old poem, “A Place I Can Go”

A PLACE I CAN GO

(When you write a lot, you sometimes forget what you have written, or at least I do. This morning this popped up on Facebook and it contained this poem. I read it and felt it was pretty good but didn’t know who wrote it until I saw that I wrote it ten years ago!)

A Place I Can Go

(a poem for the day-12/14/12 by lds

There is a place where I can go
When my soul is feeling low
and the world drags me below
I know I know I really k)now

There is that magic portal door
Through which myself I pour
And drift among new worlds galore
Dreaming over to that mystic shore

My fingers touch and yes caress
My lips sometimes against them press
In leather, linen, even wood they dress
Within the magic runes possess

The key to other doors and doors
Beyond the mystic misty moors
To light and dark and more and more
Transporting me through ancient Lore

To mountain peak and rolling seas
Jungles deep and honey bees
Quests of honor, magic keys
Heroic death
and, a little love,

if you please.
